Are you consuming enough of the right protein during menopause?

So are you consuming enough of the right type of protein during menopause?

Protein is extremely important for the function of your thyroid along with other endocrine organs and bodily functions.

I've heard cases of vegans who end up with Hashimoto's disease because they haven't been able to get enough of the right type of protein.

So what do I mean, the right type of protein?

Well. I mean a complete protein.

So what exactly is a complete protein?

Firstly proteins are made up of amino acids. So it's a protein that has all the complete amino acids.

Some amino acids are essential and some non-essential, meaning that the body can make them and therefore does not need to get them from the diet.

However it's the essential ones that the body can't produce and therefore we need to make sure that we are getting these from the diet.

This will help with growth and repair as the cells in your body require protein to function efficiently

Protein actually helps regulate all the body functions and systems.

Without protein it's very difficult to build muscle.

One of the other vital jobs that protein does within your body is to help with the production of hormones.

These hormones help regulate your immune system, the central nervous system and your reproductive system therefore affecting peri-menopause or menopause.

It's more and more difficult today to get the correct protein the body needs to work at the optimal state.

Something that we do have to be careful of is toxins that can be in proteins.

So, what am I referring to when I talk about toxins?

For instance, growth hormones and antibiotics that the cattle have been injected with.

The cattle eating an unnatural diet such as them being fed high fructose corn syrup products among other things can have an effect on the animal, causing them to be highly inflamed and thereby they become toxic and sick.

We then consume (eat) that toxic meat.

So what are the best sources of complete healthy proteins for vibrant health?

  • Organic wild caught fish
  • Organic grass fed beef
  • Organic pasture chicken
  • Organic free range eggs

so try and incorporate the above into your diet on a regular basis and see how much better to start to feel.

Good luck and

until next time this is,
